Executors, Estate Administration & Probating a Will
Estate Administration
Administration of an Estate is the process of dealing with the assets and debts of the deceased person according to the instructions contained in the will and according to the requirements of the law.
It may include confirming and paying any outstanding debts owed by the deceased, collection, accounting and distribution of the deceased's assets according to the provisions of a valid Will, setting up any Trusts specified in the Will and other matters set out in it.
Depending on the size and type of assets in the Estate, in British Columbia you may also have to obtain Probate for the Estate.
